A call out for artists to participate went out in 2010. We were looking for amateurs, professionals, and anyone in between interested in participating in this unique public art project. We received over 100 sketches from across the region. Our sponsors perused the sketches and chose the one that represented them most, or they enlisted their favorite artist to design something out of this world. The artists then had four weeks to create the sketch on the life size sculpture. Mardi Gras Decorators applied a clear coat to protect it from the elements and mounted each dog to it's own base. great dog site breeds
